Technology in ECR Strategic Planning Workshop to be held May 6-8, 2009, in Tucson

The U.S. Institute for Environmental Conflict Resolution will host a Technology in Environmental Conflict Resolution (ECR) Strategic Planning Workshop in Tucson, Arizona, to bring together Web 2.0 technology policy makers, technology partners, and ECR practioners using innovative technologies to improve access to public participation and shared decision-making. The workshop will be held from the evening of May 6th through noon on May 8th at the Tucson Doubletree at Reid Park. This workshop will focus on creating a shared vision and a practical strategy for integrating new technologies into ECR efforts to further enhance public participation, collaboration, scientific modeling, and transparency to build capacity in natural resources management.

The Technology in ECR Strategic Planning Workshop will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and mutual learning among ECR professionals, technology practitioners, and agency representatives, with experience and appreciation for the value technology can bring to ECR processes and that ECR can bring to technology.

Workshop registrations will be limited to encourage engaged discussion, so please mark your calendars and let us know soon if you plan to attend. For more information and to secure an invitation to the workshop, please contact Sasha Stortz at stortz@ecr.gov (520-901-8542).
